Full-Time School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist – Bellwood, IL

Are you a Speech-Language Pathologist looking for a full-time school-based position for the 2026-2027 school year? We are seeking an SLP to join a supportive elementary school team in Bellwood, IL!

Job Details:

  • Full-time Speech-Language Pathologist position
  • Elementary school setting, grades K-5
  • Monday-Friday, 5 days per week
  • Hours are typically 8:00 AM-3:30 PM
  • 30-minute duty-free lunch
  • 7 billable hours per day
  • Manageable caseload of approximately 35 students, plus a small number of RTI/MTSS support students
  • Caseload includes expressive/receptive language, pragmatic language, articulation/phonology, and fluency needs
  • Pay Rate: $55-$60 plus per hour
  • Includes one instructional classroom, a smaller cross-categorical 3rd grade class
  • Some case management for students who are Speech/Language only, typically 5-10 students
  • Spanish skills are a plus but not required

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active Illinois SLP license through IDFPR
  • Active ISBE Professional Educator License, PEL
  • School-based experience preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Role Overview:

As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will support elementary-aged students by evaluating communication needs, developing and implementing IEP goals, providing direct and consultative services, and collaborating with teachers, families, and other school professionals. This is a great opportunity to work with a manageable caseload in a supportive elementary school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language therapy services to students in grades K-5
  • Evaluate students and develop appropriate treatment plans and IEP goals
  • Support students with expressive/receptive language, articulation, phonology, fluency, and pragmatic language needs
  • Provide RTI/MTSS support as needed
  • Complete documentation, progress reports, and required IEP paperwork
  • Provide case management for Speech/Language-only students
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and related service providers to support student success
