Shift- 12hr Day Shift - 36

Shift Information- 0800 - 2000

On Call, Call Back Requirements- No

Weekend Rotation- Weekend rotations are possible but unlikely

Holiday Requirements- The department is closed on holidays.

Floating Requirements- Potentially, may be needed to float to other Radiation Therapy sites in greater Charlotte

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Radiation Therapist

 

●       About Facility:

▪        Outpatient Cancer Clinic

▪        Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

●       Department Information:

o   Average patients/day: Typically, we treat anywhere from 60 – 100 patient per day

▪        Department runs 3 machines daily

o   Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years

o   Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes

●       Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

o   Outpatient ambulatory cancer patients requiring radiation therapy

●       Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

o   BLS

o   Radiotherapy Technologist (ARRT-T)

●       Skills required:

o   Experience with the equipment specified below and various cancer diagnoses (seek manager approval otherwise)

o   Must be proficient in the use of Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators

●       Support within the Department:

o   Leadership support

o   Approximately 12 Therapists working per shift

●       Technology/Equipment:

o   EMR: EPIC/Aria

o   Department specific Equipment:  Must be proficient in the use of Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators

●       Floating: If yes, where?

o   Potentially, may be needed to float to other Radiation Therapy sites in greater Charlotte – manager approval if not comfortable with this

●       Orientation (facility and unit):

o   NEO

o   2 days departmental

●       Other notes:

o   Scrub Color:  Black

o   Parking: Free
