Description

Pride health is hiring a Registered Nurse for our client's Hospice program in Tucson, AZ 85704.

 

Location: Tucson, AZ and surrounding areas

 

Contract Duration: 6+ Months (Potential for conversion into a permanent role or Extension depending upon business needs.)

Compensation & Benefits:

Local Pay Package: (Applicable to candidates whose primary residence is within a 50-mile radius of Tucson, AZ)

  • $50.00 – $57.00 per hour (W-2)
  • Mileage Reimbursement: $0.50 per mile (Milage will be reimbursed between visits, from first patient to last patient.)
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Travel Pay Package: (Applicable to candidates maintaining a primary residence outside a 50-mile radius of Tucson, AZ)

  • $2,400.00 – $2,550.00 per week (Includes taxable & non taxable parts)
  • Mileage Reimbursement: $0.50 per mile (Milage will be reimbursed between visits, from first patient to last patient.)
  • (Guaranteed 40 hours per week)

Schedule: Shift Options: (5 days per week)

Weekdays: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Weekends: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

On-Call Requirement: None

Position Overview:

  • This role focuses on delivering high-quality end-of-life care, supporting patients and families, and responding to routine, PRN, urgent, and admission visits during evenings and weekends.
  • The ideal candidate will be skilled in hospice nursing, patient assessment, symptom management, and compassionate communication while working independently in home-based care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform after-hours hospice visits, including routine, PRN, urgent, and end-of-life care visits.
  • Complete hospice admissions and comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Assess patient condition and identify changes requiring intervention.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care.
  • Provide symptom management, pain control, and comfort-focused nursing interventions.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease progression, medications, and hospice services.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, hospice interdisciplinary team members, and caregivers.
  • Accurately document patient visits and clinical findings in accordance with agency standards.
  • Respond promptly to patient and family needs while maintaining high-quality compassionate care.
  • Ensure compliance with hospice regulations, agency policies, and professional nursing standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or higher
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Ability to work independently in home and community-based settings
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Hospice Nursing experience
  • Experience providing end-of-life care
  • Home Health experience
  • Strong crisis management and patient-family support skills
  • Ability to effectively manage after-hours and weekend patient needs
