Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) – Travel Contract
Location: Jamaica Plain, MA
Duration: 13 weeks (strong likelihood of extension)
Schedule: 36 hours/week | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Position Overview
Seeking a flexible Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) to support multiple units across the facility, including corrections, ventilator, and med-surg units. Ideal candidates are adaptable and comfortable working a rotating schedule.
Schedule Details
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Rotating days (no set weekly schedule)
- No block scheduling
- Every other weekend and holiday required
- Staffing varies by day:
- 4 therapists on shift: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- 3 therapists on shift: all other days
- Note: 48-hour workweeks not available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care across multiple units (corrections, vent, med-surg)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain flexibility to adjust to varying patient needs and units
Minimum Requirements
- CRT or RRT credential accepted
- Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license
- BLS certification (required by start date)
- Ability to work a flexible, rotating schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sleep studies and/or pulmonary function tests (PFTs)
- Prior experience in a correctional healthcare setting
Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year
- Tdap vaccination (required)
- TB screening (T-Spot or QuantiFERON Gold within 3 months of start)
- Flu vaccine (preferred, in-season)
- COVID-19 vaccine declination accepted
- Hepatitis B declination accepted
- No drug screen required
