Description
JOB TITLE: Imaging Technologist - MR
LOCATION OR DEPARTMENT: Clinic
Shift: M-F daytime hours/ 40hrs a week
- start: 8:30am end: 5:00pm most of the time. On occasion, they may need to work a 6:30am to 3:00pm Shift or a 7:00am to 3:30pm shift.
REPORTS TO: Clinic Manager or Lead Technologist
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None.
Locals: Possibility for temp-to-perm based on attendance and performance. NOT GUARANTEED.
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Perform MR exams and procedures according to established protocols to provide quality images and patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform all MR exams according to established protocols and assist physician in invasive procedures in a timely manner.
- Obtain patient history, answer questions, and provide the patient with information about the exam and/or procedure so they are comfortable and thoroughly understand it.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Work with the radiologists, referring clinics and/or patients to ensure the appropriate exams, films and medical records are correct and prepared for the exam.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete for the radiologist, referring clinic and the patient’s medical records.
- Incorporate company values into daily interactions with internal and external customers.
- Other duties may include, but are not limited to, training new employees, stocking and/or ordering department supplies and assisting in other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- ARRT(R), ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT. If ARRT(R), required to obtain ARRT(MR) within a year.
- 6-12 months MR experience preferred.
- Must have breast experience
- IV and power contrast injector experience preferred.
- MR Certification required within one year of employment.
- CPR certification required.
- Knowledge of basic radiologic principles, procedures, methods and techniques required.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.
- Excellent patient care, problem solving, organizational, communication and technical skills required.
- Ability to work independently, in a team, and with all levels of the organization required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative required.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment.
- Must be competent in using a computer keyboard, email, and PACS or similar applications.
- May require local travel.
DAILY PHYSICAL DEMANDS REQUIRED FOR PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Requires a moderate amount of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, gripping, twisting, turning and repetitive motion; some bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone and other office equipment. Ability to assist patients to walk, sit, stand and move to and from the exam table, wheelchair and/or Hoyer lift.
Environmental/working conditions:
- High-Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood products, bodily fluids and/or hazardous materials common to a radiology setting.
- High-Potential exposure to ionizing radiation exams rooms and/or involved in the use of ionizing radiation common to a radiology setting.
