Travel Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) – General Surgery

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Shift: Day/Evening – 3x12-Hour Shifts (10:00 AM – 10:00 PM)
Call Requirement: Yes (1 weekday call per week and rotating weekend call)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join its General Surgery Operating Room team. The Surgical Technologist will prepare and maintain the sterile field, assist surgeons during procedures, manage surgical instruments and supplies, and help ensure optimal patient outcomes throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures.
• Set up and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments.
• Ensure proper specimen handling and labeling.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection prevention standards.
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Support patient safety initiatives, including time-out procedures and universal protocols.
• Participate in emergency and trauma surgical procedures.
• Assist with instrument processing, sterilization, and equipment management.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• General OR experience required.
• Trauma Level II experience required.
• Current BLS Certification (AHA).
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent
