Critical Submission Requirements

• Must provide interview availability (dates/times) when submitting
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront
• ASAP start (allow approximately 4 weeks for compliance)
• Orientation occurs every Monday (unless impacted by a holiday)
• Nurse Manager interviews and extends offers

Radius Rule

• No local travelers
• Candidate must live more than 50 miles from the facility

Recent Employment Restriction

Candidates are not eligible if they have worked for the Beth Israel Lahey Health system as:

• Permanent staff, or
• Per diem staff

within the last 6 months.

Required Experience (Must Have)

Candidate must have experience in:

• Kidney transplant
• Neuro surgery
• Spine surgery
• Orthopedic trauma
• Robotics

Additionally, the notes specifically state the traveler must have:

• Transplant experience
• Trauma experience
• Neuro experience

These appear to be non-negotiable screening requirements.

Unit Overview – West Main OR

• 10 operating rooms
• Inpatient Level I Trauma Surgery environment
• Wide variety of surgical specialties including:
  • Kidney transplants
  • Liver transplants
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthopedic trauma
  • Spine surgery
  • ENT (head and neck)
  • Bariatric surgery
  • Major plastic reconstruction
  • Robotic surgery
  • GYN
  • Urology
  • Organ procurement

Required Clinical Skills

Must be able to scrub and/or circulate in:

• General surgery
• Robotics
• Transplants
• Orthopedics
• Neuro
• Spine
• ENT
• GYN
• Urology
• Trauma
• Organ procurement

Schedule

Night Shift Position

Initial orientation schedule:

• First week: 5 shifts
  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Holiday weeks:
  • 4 shifts of 10 hours
  • 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

After orientation, traveler works their contracted shift.

Call

• No call requirements while working nights

Holidays

• Traveler must be willing to work any holiday occurring during the contract.
