Location: Oakland Medical Center – Oakland, California
Specialty: Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA Preferred)
Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
Duration: Late August – 3 Months with Option to Extend
Schedule: 4x10-Hour Shifts Weekly | 10:45 AM – 9:15 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Call: No Call
Compensation: 💰 $90–$105/hr
EMR: Epic (HealthConnect)
 

Position Overview

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an experienced Urgent Care NP or PA to provide coverage during a maternity leave. This high-acuity urgent care setting is attached to the main medical center and requires providers who are comfortable managing a broad range of urgent and emergent presentations across all age groups.
 

Clinical Responsibilities

• Urgent Care and Same-Day Visits
• Flu, cold, and respiratory illness management
• Suturing and laceration repair
• X-ray interpretation
• Incision & Drainage (I&D)
• Fracture evaluation and management
• Toenail removal procedures
• Management of higher-acuity patients including:
  • Chest pain
  • Dizziness
  • Cardiac-related concerns
  • Imaging and lab review
• Treat patients from birth through geriatrics

Requirements

• Board Certified NP or PA
• Active California License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or High-Acuity Primary Care Experience

• Experience Treating All Age Groups
