Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Tucson, Arizona

Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 3x12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Provide nursing care to Emergency Room patients following the Nursing Process, state Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies.
• Utilize critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe patient care delivery in the Emergency Department.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Must be willing to float to other units as needed.

Facility Information

• 38-bed facility
• Trauma Level III Certified
• Stroke Receiving Center
• STEMI Receiving Center
• Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner (experience required)
• Dress code: Black scrub colors
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended but not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience working in a Trauma Level III facility
• Proficient with Cerner Electronic Medical Record system
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
