Location: Chicago, Illinois
Facility: Cook County Health – Specialty Care Clinics
Specialty: Oncology Clinic RN
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 06/29/2026
Schedule: 5x8 Days
Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Travel Pay: Up to $2,549/week Gross
Local Pay: Up to $54/hour
Position Overview
Cook County Health is seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse for an outpatient oncology clinic setting. The ideal candidate will have strong chemotherapy administration experience, infusion therapy expertise, and the ability to provide comprehensive care to oncology and hematology patients.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Oncology RN experience
- Active Illinois RN License at time of submission
- Oncology experience required
- Outpatient Oncology experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Teaching Hospital experience preferred
- Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred
Certifications Required
- BLS (AHA)
- ONS/ONCC Certification
Clinical Skills Required
- Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- Continuous chemotherapy infusions
- Oral chemotherapy administration
- Blood and blood product administration
- Central line and implanted port management
- Infusion therapy
- Oncology symptom management
- Neutropenic precautions
- Management of oncologic emergencies including:
- Tumor Lysis Syndrome
- Anaphylaxis
- Extravasation Injury
- Sepsis
- Hemorrhage
- Spinal Cord Compression
Unit Highlights
- Adult Oncology and Hematology patient population
- Approximately 125 patient visits per day
- 30 clinic rooms
- Multidisciplinary support including Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, Physical Therapy, and Rapid Response Teams
- Procedures include chemotherapy administration, bone marrow biopsies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, central venous catheter placement, and tissue biopsies.
Additional Information
- No weekends
- Mandatory floating within Cook County Health facilities as needed
- Locals accepted (within 75 miles)
- Scrub Color: Any solid color
- Charting System: Cerner
