REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
Traveler Experience: Unit WILL ACCEPT 1st time Traveler
Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
Skills: EPIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Must be able to take insulin and heparin drips.
Certs: BCLS

CPI, Charge nurse exp.
JOB DETAILS:
Target Ratios: 1:6
Shift: 12HR NIGHTS; 18:45 - 07:15
*36 or 48 hours accepted.
Charge role is preferred for night travelers.
13-26 weeks accepted
***RTO: 7 days MAX For AYA AUTO OFFER***;
Call Requirement: Call required if put on call prescheduled shift.
Float Requirement: Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding.
Weekend Requirement: Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend

*Traveler will be assigned to an Inclement Weather Team.
** Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
PATIENT DIAGNOSES:
Adults and geriatrics. General Med/Surg Patients. Daily census ~43.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS:
Heparin Drips
Wound Vac Drsg Changes
High Flow Oxygen
We occasionally have limited short term BiPap with respiratory support. No additional training needed. Appropriate for all med/surg nurses. No PCU level patients on this unit.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS EPIC, SBAR
SCHEDULING TYPE: Per Unit Needs + Preferences relayed to management

*Traveler will be assigned to an Inclement Weather Team.
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs.
SCRUBS: Not Provided. Navy

Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty

*Traveler will be assigned to an Inclement Weather Team.
**All travelers and staff are required to attend the unit team meetings. Meeting invitations will be distributed and added to their work calendars accordingly.
Meetings are scheduled for the 4th Wednesday of each month from January through October at 1730. In November and December, meetings will instead be held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1730.
Additional meetings for night shift staff will be conducted at 0730 on the Friday immediately following the Wednesday meetings.**
