Position Overview
Join a highly respected Labor & Delivery team , a Level II Trauma facility known for providing exceptional maternal and newborn care. This opportunity is ideal for experienced L&D nurses who are comfortable caring for high-risk obstetric patients in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Labor & Delivery Unit
- 10 Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR) Rooms
- 2 Operating Rooms & PACU Suites
- 10 Antepartum Rooms
- Approximately 240 Deliveries Per Month
Patient Care & Ratios
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:4
- Ratios are based on patient acuity and clinical needs
Patient Population
This unit cares for a diverse obstetric population, including approximately 20% high-risk pregnancies.
Candidates Must Be Comfortable Managing:
- Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO₄) Infusions
- Insulin-Dependent Diabetes (IDDM)
- Pre-Eclampsia
- Placenta Previa
- Advanced Maternal Age
- Maternal Cardiac Conditions
- Multiple Gestation Pregnancies (Twins)
- Lupus and Other High-Risk Conditions
Procedures Commonly Performed
- Cesarean Sections
- Tubal Ligations
- Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
- Post-Amniocentesis Care

On-Unit Support
- Unit Secretary Available Every Shift
- Dedicated OR Scrub Technician Every Shift
- 3 In-House Certified Nurse Midwives (24/7 Coverage)
- Anesthesia Support Available
- Pediatricians Available
- Neonatologists On-Site 7 Days Per Week and On-Call 24/7
- OB Physicians In-House 14 Hours Per Day

Floating Requirements

- Travelers Float First
- May Float Between 1–2 Units During a 12-Hour Shift
Scheduling & Weekend Requirements
- Self-Scheduling Available
- Must Work 4 of 8 Weekend Shifts Per Schedule Period
- No Fixed Weekend Rotation
