Description

Registered Nurse – Endoscopy (Travel)

Facility: Lee Health – HealthPark Medical Center
Location: 9981 S HealthPark Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33908
Schedule: 10-Hour Days (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
On-Call: Required
Specialty: Endoscopy
Candidate Type: Travel Only
Location Restriction: Must reside outside 50 miles of HealthPark Medical Center

Job Summary
The Endoscopy Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, procedural support, sedation monitoring, recovery care, and patient education while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy RN experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Active RN license required
BLS required
ACLS required
PALS required
Epic EMR experience required
Degree accreditation verification required or minimum 5 years of nursing experience

Responsibilities
Provide pre-procedure patient assessment and preparation
Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures
Monitor patients receiving moderate sedation and procedural medications
Provide post-anesthesia and recovery care following procedures
Recognize and respond to procedural complications and emergencies
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
Document patient care accurately within Epic EMR
Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Call Requirements
Call required throughout the assignment
Weekend call coverage required
Holiday call coverage may be required
Must be able to report to the hospital within 30 minutes while on call

Facility Notes
Prior travel experience is required
Floating required; travelers are first to float and may be assigned to sister campuses as needed
All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; no post-submission RTO approvals
Complete demographic information must be included with submission (address, email, full DOB, full SSN, RN license number)
Strict document deadline: Monday prior to start date; no exceptions for pending documents
Culture fit is highly valued, and travelers are expected to function at the same level as permanent staff
HWL prescreen interview required, followed by manager interview and offer process
