Travel RN – Operating Room (OR) | Trauma, Neuro & Orthopedic Surgery

🚨 Urgent Need – ASAP Start Only

Position Overview

Join a busy, high-acuity Operating Room at a Level I Trauma Center performing approximately 75 surgical cases per day across 23 OR suites. We are seeking an experienced OR RN with strong circulating experience in trauma, neuro, and orthopedic procedures. Scrubbing experience is highly preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• BLS Certification
• Previous Travel Experience Preferred
• Level I Trauma Center Experience Required
• Recent OR experience required
• Experience circulating Neuro, Orthopedic, and Trauma cases required
• Experience with cardiac and exploratory laparotomy (Ex-Lap) procedures preferred

Unit Details

• 23 Operating Rooms
• Approximately 75 cases per day
• EPIC EMR
• Dedicated Charge Nurse on every shift
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided

Case Mix

• Trauma Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Neurosurgery
• Cardiac Procedures
• Exploratory Laparotomy (Ex-Lap)

Scheduling & Call Requirements

• Self-scheduling available within reason
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• Travelers may work a combination of:
  • 8-hour weekday shifts
  • 12-hour weekend shifts
• Weekend rotation required

Call Expectations

Travelers are expected to participate in call rotations at the same level as permanent staff.

Standard Call Requirements:

• 3 weekday call shifts per month (evenings or nights)
• 1–2 weekend call shifts per month depending on departmental rotation
• 45-minute call response time required

• Charge nurse support available on all shifts
