Travel RN – Medical Surgical | 48 Hours Guaranteed | Days | Massachusetts

Facility: Berkshire Health System
Shift: Days – 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Schedule: 4x12s (48 Hours Guaranteed)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend & Holiday Rotation as Needed

Position Overview

Berkshire Health System is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical RN for a high-demand travel assignment. This position offers 48 guaranteed hours per week and requires flexibility to float between Medical-Surgical units based on patient care needs.

The ideal candidate will have strong Med Surg and Telemetry experience, excellent adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic acute care environment.

Unit Details

• Medical-Surgical Units
• Unit Size: 20–34 Beds
• Typical Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Personal Scrubs Permitted (Any Color)
• Floating Required Across Medical-Surgical Units

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Medical-Surgical nursing care
• Monitor and assess acute care patients
• Interpret and respond to telemetry monitoring
• Administer medications and treatments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation
• Float to various Med Surg units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License
• Minimum 2 Years Current Medical-Surgical Experience
• Telemetry Experience Required
• Willingness to Float Required
• Basic Dysrhythmia Course Completion Strongly Preferred

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

All certifications must be active and uploaded at the time of submission. Certifications will not be accepted after offer.

Preferred Experience

• Meditech Expanse Experience
• Prior Travel Nursing Experience
• Experience in Multi-Unit Float Assignments

Important Assignment Requirements

• 48-Hour Guaranteed Contract Only
• 36-Hour Guarantee Not Available
• Block Scheduling Not Available
• Traveler Must Have Reliable Transportation
• Travelers Living Within 50 Miles of the Facility Are Not Eligible
• Maximum 5 Days RTO Accepted
• All Scheduling Requests Must Be Submitted With Initial Profile

• NIHSS Certification
• Skills Checklist (Medical Surgical, within 1 year)
• One Supervisory Reference Within Previous 2 Years
• Complete Work History

• Active Voicemail Setup for Recruiter/Facility Contact
• Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Agency Requirement)
