RN – Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown (6 South)
Contract Length: 8 Weeks

- Every other weekend required
Float Requirement
Must be willing to float to:
- CVSU (Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit)
- Cardiopulmonary Unit
- Heart & Vascular Stepdown
- Complex Medical Stepdown
- Cardiology Telemetry Stepdown
Unit Overview – 6 South Telemetry Stepdown
- 28-bed Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit
- Specializes in recovery of patients following:
- Vascular procedures
- Electrophysiology (EP) procedures
- Cares for patients with:
- Acute MI
- Cardiac Arrhythmias
- Syncope
- Cardiomyopathy
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Provides continuous cardiac monitoring
- Performs titration of multiple cardiac drips
- Conscious sedation for cardioversions
- All nurses are ACLS certified and ECG interpretation trained
Required Experience
- Minimum 2+ years of recent Stepdown/PCU/Cardiac Stepdown experience
- Strong telemetry monitoring experience
- Must be able to independently interpret cardiac rhythms
- Experience with cardiac drip titration including:
- Amiodarone
- Lasix
- Cardizem
- Dopamine
- Dobutamine
- Milrinone
- Other vasoactive/cardiac medications
Preferred Experience
- Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) patients
- Post Open-Heart Surgery patients
- Cardiac Catheterization recovery patients
- Vascular surgery patients
- Advanced cardiac patient population
