CT Technologist (Computed Tomography Technologist)
Location: Summa Health – Barberton Campus, Barberton, Ohio
Department: CAT Scan (1300 75201)
Assignment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Start Date: July 5, 2026
End Date: October 3, 2026
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Duration: 13 Weeks
Experience Required: Minimum 2 Years
Position Summary
Summa Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join the Diagnostic Imaging team at Barberton Campus. The CT Technologist will perform high-quality computed tomography examinations while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established imaging protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and the capability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare and position patients accurately for CT examinations.
- Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Administer contrast media as required and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Assist with invasive and interventional radiology procedures as needed.
- Ensure image quality and accuracy while maintaining radiation safety standards.
- Maintain patient records and imaging documentation within electronic systems.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to provide optimal patient care.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance guidelines.
- Respond appropriately during emergency situations and initiate CPR when necessary.
- Perform additional radiology procedures consistent with training and competency.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Licensure & Certifications
- Active ARRT Certification (Required).
- Active Ohio Radiographer License (Required).
- Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (Required).
- CT Registry or ability to obtain CT Registry within one year of hire.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Radiologic Technology experience preferred.
- Previous CT experience strongly preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging procedures and patient positioning techniques.
- Ability to safely administer IV contrast injections.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, move, and position patients safely.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and infection prevention practices.
- Strong computer and electronic medical record (EMR) skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
