CT Technologist - Rockford, IL

Job Type

• Contract position
• Full-time, 40 hours per week

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts per week (either 12:00 PM–10:30 PM or 10:00 AM–9:30 PM)
• Weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation required
• Flexibility for overtime and shift changes as needed

Job Description

• Perform computed tomography (CT) procedures and related imaging techniques
• Administer x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• May perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams if assigned radiographer duties
• Prepare patients for procedures, including providing instructions to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation
• Position and immobilize patients as needed to capture quality images while respecting patient comfort
• Operate imaging equipment and accessories to successfully complete procedures
• Prepare and administer contrast media and maintain intravenous access as appropriate
• Initiate basic life support when necessary
• Provide patient education and practical instruction to students and partners
• Maintain inventory and supplies for assigned area
• Follow aseptic technique, universal protocol, standard precautions, and patient safety principles throughout procedures

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT Radiography registration
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation
• Current BLS certification
