Description
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs during labor and delivery.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and emergency procedures.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret fetal heart tracings.
- Care for high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred/required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
- Strong assessment and critical care skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-risk OB patients.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification.
- Travel nursing experience (if applicable).
