Occupational Therapist (OT) – Texas

Schedule

  • Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Schedule may vary based on departmental coverage needs
  • Candidate must reside at least 100 miles from the facility

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our healthcare team. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients improve functional abilities, regain independence, and enhance overall quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a patient-centered approach to care.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
  • Assess functional abilities, physical limitations, and rehabilitation goals.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and functional independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding therapy programs and home exercise plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care activities.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, state regulations, and facility policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an AOTA-accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Current Texas Occupational Therapist License.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and patient-care skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an AOTA-accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Additional experience in acute care, rehabilitation, inpatient, or outpatient settings.

Required Credentials

  • Texas Occupational Therapy License (Active and Unrestricted)
  • BLS Certification
  • Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
