CT Technologist Travel/Contract Position

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced CT Technologist to work in a Level I trauma center’s CT department. The role involves performing a variety of CT procedures in a fast-paced emergency room setting with emergent inpatient needs.

Work Environment

• Level I Trauma Center
• Stroke Accredited
• Inpatient, ER, Operating Room, Adult ICU
• Community hospital setting
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Works every third weekend
• On-call approximately once every 10 weeks

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans including abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, and brain perfusion
• Operate CT equipment to ensure high-quality imaging
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to maintain patient safety and comfort
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with regulatory standards
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent situations

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• BLS and ARRT certifications required prior to start
• Background check: 7-year criminal history including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific codes apply)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
• Physical exam: Documentation within 1 year confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap (adult dose)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• Fit mask test required annually for inpatient/patient-facing roles (valid for entire assignment length)
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually

Background & Credentialing

• Must pass a comprehensive background check including criminal history, sex offender registry, motor vehicle record (if applicable), and education accreditation verification
• Fingerprinting (BCI & FBI) must be completed within 1 year of start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days
• Education must be from accredited programs relevant to the specialty
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership

Additional Notes

• Parking permits available for purchase but not included in employment
• Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, compliance, and fraud/waste/abuse reporting
• Competency exams and unit-specific training may be required prior to or during assignment
