Description

RN First Assistant (RNFA) – CVOR Travel Assignment

Contract Length: 13 Weeks (91 Days)
Shift: 4 x 10-Hour Day Shifts
Schedule: 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week

Requirements

  • Active RN License
  • RNFA Certification Required
  • Minimum 2–3 years of RNFA CVOR experience
  • Must be proficient in:
    • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
    • MVR (Mitral Valve Replacement)
    • AVR (Aortic Valve Replacement)
    • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
    • Open Leg Vein Harvest
    • Endoscopic (Endo) Vein Harvest
    • Endoluminal AAA Procedures
    • Thoracic Procedures
    • Carotid Endarterectomy (CEA)
    • Vascular Surgery Procedures

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist CVOR surgeons during surgical procedures
  • Control bleeding and provide wound exposure
  • Handle tissue and perform suturing
  • Participate in open and endoscopic vein harvesting
  • Support cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries

Schedule & Call

  • Monday–Friday Day Shift
  • No regular weekend shifts (unit closed on weekends)
  • Call Requirement: 10 days per month

Assignment Highlights

  • 40 guaranteed hours per week
  • Day shift schedule
  • Specialized CVOR RNFA role
  • 13-week travel contract
  • Facility may downstaff up to 36–48 hours during the contract based on scheduling needs

Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced RNFA with strong CVOR background
  • Comfortable assisting in complex cardiac and vascular procedures
  • Skilled in both open and endoscopic vein harvesting
  • Experienced with CABG, TAVR, thoracic, and vascular cases
