Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours: 36 hours/week
Start Time: 1900
End Time: 0700

Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum (LDRP)
Unit Size: 18 LDRP beds, 5 OB Triage beds, 2 OB ORs
Average Deliveries: 40–65 deliveries per month
EMR: Epic
Teaching Hospital: Affiliated with Community Schools of Nursing
Stroke Accreditation: TJC Stroke Accredited
Radius Rule: Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from facility
Floating Required: Yes, within Region 2 facilities and scope of practice
Orientation: 2 days facility orientation + department orientation
Holiday Requirement: Work 75% of holidays
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience
Experience in all aspects of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum care
Cesarean Section circulating experience
Newborn care experience including:
- Heel sticks
- 24-hour newborn testing
- NAS scoring
- Lactation support
Must be comfortable working the full LDRP model of care

Required Certifications

RN License
BLS
ACLS
NRP
EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum nursing care
Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery
Circulate and assist during C-sections
Perform newborn assessments and routine newborn care
Conduct heel sticks, newborn screenings, and NAS scoring
Provide breastfeeding and lactation support
Collaborate with OB physicians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary teams
Maintain accurate patient documentation in Epic
Float to regional facilities as needed within scope of practice
Adhere to AWHONN staffing and patient care guidelines
Deliver family-centered care while ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes.
