Position Title: Level 3 Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Assignment Type: Contract / Travel Assignment
Assignment Duration: July 6, 2026 – October 3, 2026

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Level 3 Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to provide high-quality critical care services to patients with complex and life-threatening conditions. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

The ICU RN will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining patient safety and compliance with facility standards.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and critical care treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and ventilator settings.
  • Respond rapidly to changes in patient conditions and medical emergencies.
  • Operate and manage specialized critical care equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and monitoring systems.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through AHA.
  • Strong knowledge of critical care nursing principles and emergency response protocols.
  • Experience with EMR systems and patient documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Critical Care certification (CCRN) preferred.
  • Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Experience caring for patients requiring advanced life support interventions.
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
