Acute Rehabilitation RN – Travel Assignment

Location: Centerpoint Medical Center – Independence, Missouri
Unit: Acute Rehabilitation (4th Floor)
Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 12 weeks (84 days)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Acute Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. The RN will support patients with temporary or permanent disabilities, focusing on functional recovery, mobility improvement, and safe discharge planning.

This unit emphasizes patient-centered care, goal setting, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation support.

Facility Overview

• 16-bed Acute Rehab unit
• Private “Rehab Suite” rooms
• Meditech 5.6 EMR system
• High-performing rehab center (above national quality benchmarks)
• Experienced RN team (4+ years average tenure)
• Strong patient-focused rehab environment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to rehab patients with varying levels of disability
• Perform wound care, medication administration, and IV therapy
• Assist with mobility and transfers using assistive devices (Hoyer, Sara Stedy)
• Support patient rehabilitation goals and functional independence
• Conduct hourly rounding and bedside shift reports
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehab team

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License (State or Compact)
• BLS Certification
• Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Strong ability to manage patient-centered rehab care
• Experience with patient mobility and safety practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Acute Inpatient Rehab experience
• Familiarity with FIM and CARE Tool documentation
• Experience working in Meditech EMR
• Strong communication and patient engagement skills

Schedule & Unit Details

• 3x12 Night Shifts (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Block scheduling may be available upon request
• 1-week orientation included
