- Trauma patients are stabilized and transferred to CMC Main
- Non-Teaching Hospital
- Radius Rule: Candidate's permanent residence must be more than 50 miles from the facility
Position Overview
- Specialty: Emergency Department (ED)
- Shift: 12-Hour Days
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
- On-Call: None
- Holiday Requirement: Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
- First-Time Travelers: Not preferred but may be considered
- Minimum Experience: 2 Years of Recent ED RN Experience
Unit Information
- 34 ED Beds / 32 Vertical Care Areas
- Fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Average daily volume: 200+ patients
Patient Population
- All age groups (Adult & Pediatric)
- High volume of trauma stabilization cases
- Gunshot wounds (GSW)
- Stabbings
- Significant behavioral health, homelessness, substance abuse, and alcohol-related cases
- Common diagnoses include:
- Stroke
- Respiratory Illness
- Chest Pain
- Abdominal Pain
- Diabetes / DKA
- General Emergency Conditions
Patient Ratios
- RN: Typically 1:4
- LPN: Typically 1:4
- CNA: Typically 1:20
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NIHSS
- CPI
Preferred Certification
- TNCC
Required Skills
Candidates must be proficient in:
- Adult & Pediatric Emergency Care
- Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation
- Critical Care Drips
- Peripheral IV Starts
- TNK/tPA Administration
- Conscious Sedation
- General Emergency Department Procedures

Floating Requirements
Floating is Required. Candidates must be willing to float within Region 1 as needed.
Possible float locations include:
- Central Division Facilities:
Note: Travelers remain on the clock and are compensated for travel time between facilities when floating mid-shift.

- 2 Days of Department-Specific Orientation
Scheduling & Time Off
- Schedule Cycle: 6 Weeks
- Up to 6 Days RTO May Be Approved (Excluding Holidays)
- Any unmet contracted hours may need to be made up by extending the contract
