Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the cardiac catheterization laboratory before procedures.
- Assist cardiologists and interventional physicians during procedures such as:
- Cardiac catheterizations
- Coronary angioplasty (PCI)
- Stent placements
- Electrophysiology procedures
- Structural heart interventions
- Operate specialized imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
- Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms during procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety.
- Administer contrast media and assist with medications as permitted by state regulations and facility policies.
- Document procedure details and patient information accurately.
- Respond to emergency situations, including cardiac arrests and complications during procedures.
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot technical issues.
