Shift Timing: 7:00 PM – 7:15 AM
Schedule: Night Shift | 3 shifts per week | | 12-hour shifts
Contract Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-acuity critical care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have strong CVICU/CTICU experience and the ability to manage fresh post-operative open-heart patients on post-operative day zero. This role requires strong clinical judgment, EPIC charting proficiency, and readiness to work in a high-acuity ICU setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care to critically ill cardiovascular ICU patients
• Manage fresh post-operative open-heart surgery patients (POD 0 care)
• Monitor hemodynamic status and respond to acute changes
• Administer medications, drips, and advanced cardiac support therapies
• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC charting system
• Ensure adherence to ICU protocols and safety standards
• Maintain compliance with hospital and unit-specific guidelines

Skills:

• Strong experience with EPIC charting system required
• Ability to manage post-op open heart patients (POD 0)
• Strong critical care and cardiovascular ICU skill set

Required Qualifications:

• Active NY state of Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU/CTICU.
• AHA - BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• BSN required
