Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a CVICU Night Shift position requiring 2+ years of CVICU staff experience, Epic proficiency, and an active NY RN license.

Details

• Position is located within a Level I Trauma Center CVICU/Float Pool setting
• Patients include high-acuity immediate postoperative cardiac and vascular surgery patients requiring ICU-level care
• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring is central to daily practice, including A-lines, spinal drains, and temporary pacemakers
• Proficiency with ventilators, vasoactive and inotropic drip titrations, and ECG interpretation and monitoring is required
• Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• AHA or RQI certifications required (specific certifications must be current and included with profile)
• Minimum 2 years of recent staff CVICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Demonstrated competency with vents, A-lines, spinal drains, hemodynamic monitoring, temporary pacemakers, vasoactive and inotropic drip titrations, and ECG interpretation
• US Social Security Number required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Flu vaccination required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal and religious declinations are not accepted

Additional Information

• Candidates must not reside in the following counties to be eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington
• A competency test is required and will be sent to the candidate's email — must be completed within 24 hours
• ICU competency test allows 2 attempts to pass
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• No blocked scheduling
• Any time-off requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
• More than 3 call-outs in a 13-week contract period may result in termination; make-up shifts must be completed within 6 weeks of the last call-out
• Travel pairs are not permitted for this position
• First-time travelers will not be considered — previous travel experience is required
