Description

Schedule & Requirements

  • Position: Laboratory Manager / Laboratory Leadership
  • Shift: Days, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday with occasional weekends
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks (91 Days)

Required Experience

  • 5 years of clinical laboratory experience required.
  • 2 years of laboratory leadership/management experience required.
  • Experience in a hospital laboratory setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and staff management.

Required Certifications

  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification required:
    • ASCP
    • AMT
    • Or equivalent certification
  • Must meet all applicable laboratory regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Epic Beaker proficiency (required)
  • Kronos/UKG proficiency (required)
  • Laboratory operations management
  • Staff supervision and scheduling
  • Quality control and quality assurance
  • Regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP)
  • Policy and procedure implementation
  • Performance improvement initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day laboratory operations.
  • Supervise laboratory staff and coordinate workflow.
  • Partner with the Laboratory Director on policy and procedural matters.
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and organizational standards.
  • Monitor quality assurance and quality control programs.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and productivity management.
  • Support employee development, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee laboratory testing processes for inpatient, emergency, outpatient, and clinic specimens.
  • Maintain efficient turnaround times and high-quality laboratory services.
  • Assist with departmental planning, process improvement, and operational goals.
