Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Laboratory
TEMP-TO-PERM OPPORTUNITY (SERIOUS CANDIDATES ONLY)
Position Details
- Position: Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
- Department: Laboratory
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Shift Options:
- 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Shift Length: 8 Hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week
- On-Call: None
- Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm
- Charting System: Cerner (Oracle)
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
- Active MT/MLS or MLT certification
- ASCP Certification required
- Current BLS Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience
- Recent phlebotomy experience required
- Ability to work the entire laboratory bench independently
- Flexibility to work either scheduled shift

- Cerner/Oracle Electronic Health Record (strongly preferred)
Microbiology Experience
- Specimen plating
- Gram stain preparation and interpretation
- General microbiology knowledge
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing across multiple disciplines with accuracy and efficiency.
- Collect patient specimens through venipuncture and other approved methods.
- Process, analyze, and report laboratory results according to established procedures.
- Maintain quality control and regulatory compliance standards.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
- Participate in blood bank, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, and microscopy workflows.
- Accurately document results within Cerner EHR and laboratory information systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and healthcare teams to support patient care.
- Ensure proper specimen handling and adherence to safety and infection control guidelines.

Cons
Staff constantly switched. My documents weren't sent to the school, resulting in a months lost pay. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get on touch with anyone to answer questions. I have been attempting to reach them for over a month with absolutely no response! They lose paperwork (tests, immunizations, background checks and fingerprints) resulting in even more lost work.
