Description
Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED)
Facility: DCH Regional Medical Center
Department: Emergency Department (ED)
Schedule & Work Requirements
Flexible scheduling: 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
Shift expectation: Rotating 12-hour shifts (ED coverage 24/7)
Every other weekend required
Holidays required as scheduled
Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals within the system
Bed Count: 54 ED beds
Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
Critical/Trauma: 1:1
Standard ED Patients: 1:3–1:4
Required Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
Required Certifications & Licensure
(All certifications must be through AHA unless otherwise specified)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Active Registered Nurse license for the State of Alabama OR Compact RN License
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience, OR
Minimum 18 months experience in ED with demonstrated competency under a professional RN license AND
Must have 2 years of recent experience in specialty area
