Looking for a fast-paced, high-volume ER contract in sunny Phoenix? We are seeking an elite, highly adaptable Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.
This is a high-volume emergency department managing approximately 88,000 patients annually (250–300 per day). The unit features 36 acute beds, 54 subacute beds, and 6 trauma bays, presenting a dynamic clinical environment with a steady team and dedicated 24/7 ancillary support (RT, Pharmacy, and specialized IV teams).

- Start Date: 07/20/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-Hour Days (0700–1930)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Unit Specifics & Staffing Support
- Patient Ratios: 1:4
- EMR: Cerner (Required)
- Telemetry: Phillips monitors (Must be highly proficient at reading strips)
- Support Staff: 2 Charge RNs per shift, 4 PCTs, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, and an ER Pharmacist on-site 10 hours a day.
Requirements (No Exceptions)
- Minimum 2 years of core ER experience.
- Minimum 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience (Strictly required).
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (ENPC is not accepted as a substitute for PALS).
- Preferred Certs: TNCC and ATCN.
- Testing Requirements: Must pass a clinical DYS exam prior to file acceptance, alongside a Day 1 orientation exam and a pass/fail SIMs Lab assessment (Foley and port-a-cath sterile field validation).
- Floating: Ability to float between 4 regional emergency departments (St. Joseph's Main, Westgate, and free-standing ERs in Litchfield Park & Glendale). Reliable personal vehicle required.
- Facility Appearance Policy: Natural hair colors only, no facial piercings, and men must be clean-shaven for mandatory fit-testing.
- Radius Restriction: Permanent residence must be 50+ miles away from the facility.
