Candidates applying to this order must have a minimum of 3 years of recent full time experience as a Perioperative Care Center RN in a high volume hospital setting, with demonstrated proficiency in postoperative/post procedure phases of patient care. The PACU RN evaluates patients responses to treatment and interventions and manages pain according to the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN). The PACU RN anticipates surgical/procedural specific needs based on knowledge of procedures performed and pathophysiology, in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital. BLS and ALS are required. Candidates with less experience or requiring extensive onboarding will not be considered. Must provide verifiable references from previous experience. Must be able to function independently in a fast paced surgical environment with the ability to "hit the ground running." The schedule for this contract is for a 10-hour day shift, weekdays from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm based on unit need at time of contract start. Candidates will not participate in on-call, weekends or holidays.Unit Description: The PACU at ASMCA is a 28 bed unit providing Phase I/II recovery of patients undergoing surgery or other invasive procedures for the operating room, cath lab, radiology, and endoscopy. This is supplemented by the 72 bed Perioperative Care unit
