(CST-OR) – Roles & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for surgeries.
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses during surgical procedures.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgical team during operations.
• Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are functioning properly.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and infection control standards.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
• Participate in room turnover and preparation between cases.
• Respond to on-call cases as required.

Requirements:

• Active CST (NBSTSA) Certification
• Active Colorado DORA Registration
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 6 months recent acute-care hospital CST experience
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced OR environment
• Willingness to participate in weekend and holiday call rotations
