Position Overview
Yale New Haven Health System is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join its dynamic and high-acuity ED team. This opportunity offers experience within one of the nation's leading Level I Trauma Centers while caring for a diverse patient population across all age groups.
The selected traveler will be assigned to one campus with the possibility of rotating between YNHH campuses based on operational needs. Travelers will not be assigned to trauma/resuscitation rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units.
Schedule & Staffing
- Shift: 3x12-hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
- Patient Ratios:
- Days: 1:6
- Nights: 1:6
- Weekends: 1:6
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Block Scheduling: Not Available
- On-Call Requirement: None
- Floating: Required within scope and between YNHH campuses as needed
Experience Requirements
Required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
- Community Hospital experience
- Experience managing patient assignments of 1:5–6
- NIHSS Certification
Considered
- 1.5 years of ED experience from a Level I Trauma Center may be accepted
Preferred
- Trauma Level I or Level II experience
- Teaching Hospital experience
- Epic EMR experience
- Pediatric Emergency Department experience
