Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Acute Care Laboratory

Assignment Type: Temp-to-Perm (Only candidates interested in permanent placement will be considered)

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday
• 5 x 8-hour shifts
• Shift times: 11:00 AM–8:00 PM or 12:00 PM–9:00 PM
• Candidates must be flexible to work either schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent MT/MLT experience
• Active laboratory license (if applicable)
• ASCP Certification required
• BLS Certification required
• Previous phlebotomy experience required

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician to join a small rural acute care laboratory. The ideal candidate will be a strong generalist with the ability to work independently across multiple laboratory departments and perform phlebotomy as needed.

Required Laboratory Experience:

• Chemistry
• Hematology
• Blood Bank
• Coagulation
• Microscopy
• General Microbiology

Microbiology is not the primary focus of the role; however, candidates should be comfortable plating specimens and performing Gram stains.

Preferred Equipment Experience:

• Vitros 5600 (Chemistry)
• Sysmex (Hematology)
• Stago Satellite (Coagulation)
• Vitek (Microbiology)
• QuidelOrtho Manual Gel System (Blood Bank)
• Cerner/Oracle Electronic Health Record (strongly preferred)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Well-rounded laboratory generalist
• Comfortable working all laboratory benches
• Strong phlebotomy skills
• Experience in a rural or community hospital laboratory setting
• Technically proficient and able to work independently
• Interested in transitioning into a permanent position
