Shift: Nights | 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Hours: 40 Hours per Week

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Akron, Ohio. The CT Technologist will operate Computed Tomography (CT) and radiologic imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional care. The technologist will collaborate closely with radiologists and healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans and diagnostic radiographic examinations according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Prepare, position, and instruct patients for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Evaluate image quality and collaborate with radiologists to obtain additional images when necessary.
• Administer contrast media as required and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Assist physicians during invasive and interventional radiology procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely documentation of imaging results.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot CT and radiologic equipment.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control guidelines.
• Utilize hospital information systems and imaging software for patient documentation and workflow management.
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations, including initiating CPR when necessary.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Certifications & Licensure

• Active ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification required.
• Active Ohio Radiographer License required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
• CT Registry preferred.

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years of Radiology/CT experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a hospital-based CT environment preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of CT imaging procedures and radiographic techniques.
• Ability to safely administer contrast media and monitor patient responses.
• Excellent patient care and communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and radiology information systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, transfer, and position patients safely.
• Heavy physical demand level:
  • Occasionally exert 50–100 pounds of force.
  • Frequently exert 25–50 pounds of force.
  • Continuously exert 10–20 pounds of force to move equipment and assist patients.
