Urgent Care NP/PA Opportunity | Kaiser Permanente – Downey, CA

Kaiser Permanente – Downey Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-acuity Urgent Care coverage due to increased patient volume and staffing needs.

📍 Location: Downey, California
🏥 Facility: Kaiser Permanente – Downey Medical Center
📅 Assignment: ASAP – 3 Months (extension possible)
💰 Compensation: $110/hr + OT after 40 hours/week
🕒 Schedule Options:

• 4x10s: Friday – Monday | 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM
• 3x12s: Saturday – Monday | 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM

Position Highlights:

• High-acuity Urgent Care environment
• No call responsibilities
• Collaborative team including Physicians, APPs, RNs, and MAs
• Utilize Kaiser HealthConnect (EPIC)

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat urgent care patients presenting with:
  • Flu-like illness and general medical complaints
  • Lacerations and wound care
  • Incision & Drainage procedures
  • Fractures and musculoskeletal injuries
  • Toenail procedures
  • Dizziness, chest pain, and cardiac-related complaints
• Order and interpret imaging and laboratory studies
• Triage and manage higher acuity patients who may require ED transfer

Requirements:

✔ Board Certified NP or PA
✔ Recent ER or High-Acuity Urgent Care experience REQUIRED
✔ Active California license required (no licensing candidates)
✔ Vaccination preferred with booster

Credentialing: Approximately 60-90 days
