Job Overview
- Facility: Salem Hospital (Mass General Brigham system)
- Location: Salem, MA (Greater Boston/Cambridge Area)
- Position: Mammography Technologist
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Standard)
- Target Start Date: 07/26/2026
- Hours: 24 to 40 hours per week (Flexible depending on department scheduling needs)
- Shift: Days / Weekends Focus
- Option A (Weekend Lock): Saturday & Sunday (7:30 AM – 8:00 PM or 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM).
- Option B (Variable Rotation): 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts ranging between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
Job Description & Unit Details
Join a high-performing imaging team providing coverage across Salem Hospital’s main campus and various offsite clinics located within a tight 10-mile radius. This role demands a high level of autonomy and flexibility to adapt to changing weekly caseload needs.
- Tech-to-Machine Ratio: 1:1
- Clinical Capabilities: Must be fully competent in performing both screening and diagnostic mammograms.
- Preferred Experience: Prior hands-on experience performing stereotactic biopsies is a strong plus, though not mandatory.
- Travel Fleet: Candidate must have reliable transportation to rotate to nearby offsite clinics as assigned.
Strict FDA / MQSA Compliance Requirements
Due to federal MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) and Massachusetts state mandates, candidates must have documented tracking for the following at submission:
- Digital & Tomo Training: Must provide official documentation proving 8 hours of dedicated Digital Mammography training AND 8 hours of 3D Digital Breast Tomosynthesis training.
- Continuing Education: Documentation of 15 hours of Mammography CEUs completed within the past 3 years.
- Clinical Statistics: Documentation of MQSA clinical mammography performing statistics tracking from the past 24 months.
Licensure & Certifications
- State License: Active, current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist and Mammography License.
- Specialty Registry: Active ARRT card with Mammography credentials [ARRT(M)].
- Core Life Support: Active BLS.
