Job Summary
Providence Saint Peter Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support a busy Surgical Services department. The ideal candidate will have recent acute care sterile processing experience and be proficient in instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and high-level disinfection while maintaining the highest infection prevention standards.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- No weekends
- No on-call
- 40-hour work week
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience (2+ years preferred)
- Current CRCST (HSPA) or CBSPD certification
- Acute Care Hospital experience
- Epic experience preferred

Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instrumentation.
- Prepare case carts and instrument trays for scheduled surgical procedures.
- Operate washers, sterilizers, and sterilization equipment while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Monitor sterilization cycles using biological and chemical indicators.
- Complete equipment documentation and maintain accurate sterilization records.
- Support Operating Room staff by ensuring instruments and supplies are available for all scheduled procedures.
- Maintain infection prevention standards and comply with AAMI, AORN, and hospital policies.
