Job Summary
Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to support a busy 418-bed acute care hospital. This role is ideal for candidates with strong sterile processing skills, acute care OR experience, and knowledge of instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and high-level disinfection.
Schedule
- Night Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Block Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Sunday
- No On-Call
- 40-hour work week
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience
- CRCST (HSPA) or CBSPD certification
- Acute Hospital OR experience
- Epic experience preferred
- Must have a vehicle for the assignment
- Willingness to float to nearby Providence facilities if needed
Preferred Experience
- Robotics (Da Vinci Si, SP, Xi)
- Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM)
- Trauma Level I
- Loaner trays and implants
- Orthopedic and specialty instrumentation

Responsibilities
- Clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Prepare case carts and specialty trays for scheduled surgical procedures.
- Operate sterilization equipment and monitor cycles using biological and chemical indicators.
- Process loaner instrumentation, implants, robotics, and specialty equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation while following AAMI, AORN, and hospital infection prevention standards.
- Support Operating Room teams by ensuring instrument readiness and efficient surgical workflow.
