Description
Surgical Tech
Location: Neptune, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: 3 shifts per week, weekends and holidays required
On-Call: None

Job Summary
Responsible for cleaning, handling, and organizing surgical instruments according to standard policies. Maintains accurate records and ensures proper decontamination, sterilization, and sanitation of instruments and equipment. Assists in patient care planning and evaluation alongside the surgical team.
Essential Functions
- Standardize surgical set-ups and manage surgeon preferences.
- Maintain counts of sponges, needles, and instruments; administer and label medications per policy.
- Handle specimens following operating room procedures.
- Control contamination and perform decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and sanitation of instruments.
- Dispose of contaminated needles and syringes properly after procedures.
- Participate in team conferences to plan and evaluate patient care.
- Maintain proficiency by tracking equipment and case experience across specialty areas.
- Lift at least 50 lbs., push/pull up to 400 lbs., and stand for the entire shift.
- Adapt care to meet the specific needs of diverse patient populations (age, culture, language, sensory impairments).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
- Experience as a Vascular Technologist.

- Scrubs provided.
- No required certifications or licenses mandated beyond education and preferred certification.
