Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – LTAC/Telemetry
Facility Type: Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTAC) / Telemetry Unit
Must Have
- Active Missouri RN License or Multi-State Compact RN License
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- LTAC and/or Telemetry nursing experience
- Experience caring for medically complex adult patients
- Strong cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation skills
- Critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
- Experience with medication administration and IV therapy
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and coordinate patient care
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Preferred
- Previous Kindred Hospital experience
- Travel nursing experience
- Experience with ventilator-dependent or medically complex patients
- EMR experience
- Charge Nurse or leadership experience
Schedule
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
- 12-hour shifts
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to LTAC and telemetry patients
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry changes
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products per physician orders
- Assess and manage patients with complex medical conditions
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and ancillary staff
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and interventions
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, and discharge planning
- Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately to support staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and nursing best practices
