💼 Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a travel assignment at a respected healthcare system in Easton, MD. This role involves performing a wide range of diagnostic laboratory tests on patient specimens, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely reporting of results. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently and has hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
📅 Schedule & Details
- Shift: Day shift, 5x8s
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Contract Length: 16 weeks
- Start Date: July 13, 2026
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Holidays: Required as scheduled
- Floating: May be required within specialty
🔬 Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing on specimens including blood, urine, CSF, and other bodily fluids
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment
- Conduct quality control procedures and ensure compliance with lab standards
- Identify and resolve test inconsistencies or equipment issues
- Analyze and report test results accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure proper specimen handling and reject unacceptable samples
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support optimal patient care
✅ Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or related science
- Completion of an accredited Medical Technologist program (CAHEA or equivalent)
- ASCP certification required (MLS preferred)
- BLS certification (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience (first-time travelers accepted)
- Strong experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency with computer systems and lab software
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
