Position Details
- Position: Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks (89 Days)
- Facility: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, Magnet Designated
- Care Setting: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
Schedule
- Shift: 10-Hour Days
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Call only
- On-Call: Required
- Weekdays: 4–5 overnight call shifts every 4 weeks
- Weekends: 2 call shifts every 4-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday together or split)
- Response Time: 30 minutes
- Holiday: May be required to take call
- RTO: Up to 7 days with approval
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience
- First-time travelers are NOT accepted
- Experience with:
- Diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Moderate sedation
- Critical cardiac patient management
- Monitoring and circulating Cath Lab procedures
Required Certifications
- BLS
- ACLS
- Active RN License
Required Skills
- Moderate sedation (Versed/Fentanyl)
- Critical drip management
- Monitor and circulate Cath Lab procedures
- Experience with:
- Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Catheterizations
- Left Heart Cath (LHC)
- Right Heart Cath (RHC)
- STEMI/NSTEMI interventions
- Impella
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- Rotational Atherectomy (Rotablator)
- Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO)
- Staged PCI
- Shockwave procedures
- Temporary pacemaker placement
- Peripheral vascular diagnostic/intervention
- Loop recorder procedures
- EP experience preferred:
- Micra
- Pacemakers
- AICD implantation
- Lead extraction/revision
- Generator changes
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and circulate Cath Lab procedures
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation
- Manage critical cardiac medications and drips
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
- Monitor patient hemodynamics and procedural outcomes
- Participate in weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide safe patient care
