Submission Requirements

  • Candidates may only be submitted to one position at a time within the WVU system
  • Candidate’s permanent address (driver’s license) must be more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Previous permanent WVU employees must have been separated for at least 2 years
  • Previous travelers who completed one full year must also be separated for 2 years
  • A maximum of 2 candidates may be submitted per opening
  • Travel teams must be submitted together in one email
  • All background findings must be disclosed at time of submission
  • Unexpired driver’s license must be included with all submissions
  • Individual unit requirements as listed in Pulse apply

Scope of Practice

  • Perform imaging for adult and pediatric patients across all areas
  • Interventional Radiology (IR): Adult patients only
  • Perform a wide range of CT and diagnostic imaging studies

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT Certification (Required; CT preferred)
  • Valid West Virginia License (Required)
  • BLS Certification (AHA Required)
  • Ability to start IVs independently
  • Strong clinical and technical radiology skills

Equipment & Systems

  • EMR: EPIC
  • Imaging Equipment:
    • Canon/Toshiba
    • Fuji Synapse PACS

Work Schedule

  • Travelers:
    • No weekends
    • No holidays
    • No call requirements
  • Staffing Model:
    • Typically 2 inpatient CT technologists
    • 1 outpatient CT technologist
  • Orientation:
    • Generally up to 2 weeks, depending on modality
    • Ultrasound and MRI may require longer orientation

Dress Code

  • Black scrubs required for all technologists

Leadership Structure

  • Reports to:
    • Radiology Supervisor
    • Radiology Director/Manager
  • No lead technologist roles within the department

Additional Requirements

  • Radiation badge must be provided by the agency (facility does not provide)
  • Must be able to function independently within assigned modality

Radiologist Coverage

  • In-house: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • On-call: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures with accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety and quality standards
  • Provide excellent patient care for both adult and pediatric populations
  • Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC
  • Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment effectively
