Description:

• During training, they will follow a Day shift 5x8s Mon-Friday. Training lasts 4 weeks. Once training is over, they may start in the shift they are hired for, however that shift may change as needs must be met.
• 3x12s
• 1900-0700 e/o weekend after 4 week training period.
• RN's would be involved in the treatment of patients/residents.
• You would administer medications and injections; perform tube feedings; hang IVs; collect blood samples if certified for venipuncture; provide colostomy care; observe patients and report changes in their condition; take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; obtain specimens for analysis and perform other medical procedures as ordered by a physician.
• You would prepare and apply simple dressings; bathe and feed patients/residents; and care for patients/residents and their quarters by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, lifting and moving patients/residents and caring for their personal effects.
• Provision of nursing services may take place within a state operated facility or community based residential or program setting.
• RN's would also provide clinical supervision and instruction to Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff in completing nursing care tasks.
• Delegates responsibility for appropriate nursing activities, skills, and/or procedures to nursing and direct care staff; and makes clinical rounds to assess individuals’ nursing care needs and observe and evaluate the provision of nursing services.
• Acts as liaison to outside agencies and providers to ensure continuity of care and the necessary follow-up for individuals; advocates for individuals’ needs; and may provide instruction to providers on individuals’ discharge plans.
• May perform the full range of supervisory duties over Graduate Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and direct care staff; provide information to Registered Nurse Supervisors; and prepare or contribute to the preparation of reports and performance evaluations for lower-level staff involved in nursing care activities.
