CT Technologist – Acute Care Hospital | Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced CT imaging procedures following physician orders and department protocols.
• Prepare, position, and monitor patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Operate CT scanners and imaging equipment while adhering to radiation safety standards.
• Perform contrast-enhanced CT examinations in accordance with facility policies.
• Troubleshoot basic CT equipment issues and report malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Complete quality assurance (QA) activities and ensure accurate image acquisition.
• Upload, verify, and archive completed examinations in PACS.
• Follow PACS downtime procedures and assist with image processing and system troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient throughput.
• Maintain accurate documentation while complying with hospital, state, federal, and regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working different shifts or campuses as needed.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain competency in CT imaging practices.

Required Documents / Certifications

• Active Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) License (TMB)
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (or equivalent)
• ARRT (R) or NMTCB Certification (required)
• ARRT (CT) or NMTCB CT Certification (preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting (preferred)
• Basic computer skills
• Experience with PACS and image archiving systems (preferred)
