Schedule:

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12s)
• Every Other Weekend Required
• Float Required (ICU Cluster)
• No Call Requirement

Job Description:

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients in a high-acuity environment.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
• Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient condition and clinical priorities.
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced nursing interventions.
• Provide care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation and respiratory support.
• Manage and monitor BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilator therapy.
• Perform airway management support including ETT and nasotracheal suctioning.
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips according to protocols and physician orders.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and emergency situations.
• Perform and maintain arterial line and central line management.
• Deliver advanced IV therapy and monitor patient responses to medications and treatment.
• Support care for patients requiring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
• Apply infection prevention standards and maintain compliance with isolation precautions and PPE requirements.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, radiology, and rehabilitation services.
• Float within ICU areas as operationally required to support patient care needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using Epic EMR.
• Promote patient safety, clinical excellence, and continuity of care throughout hospitalization.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Minimum 1 year of SICU / ICU RN experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification
• Epic EMR experience required
